Research Study:
Comparison of Depressed and Borderline
Personality Disorder Suicide Attempters

Overview:

This study examines the risk factors for suicidal behavior in people diagnosed with major depression, people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and people diagnosed with both. This is not a treatment study. Participants are paid $100 for their involvement in the study.

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18-60
  • Falls into one of the following catagories:
    - meets criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder and has made at least one suicide attempt
    - meets criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder, has never attempted suicide, and is not currently depressed
    - meets criteria for a current Major Depressive Episode, has made at least one suicide attempt, and does not meet criteria for any personality disorder
  • Able and willing to give informed consent

Benefits to participant:

  • Up to $100 for each family member who participates.

This is an interview study and there is no treatment involved

You can potentially receive up to $680.

No, you get paid each time you complete a set of interviews.
