Dr. Scott Schobel and Dr. Salomao Segal 2008 Paul Janssen Fellows
in Translational Neuroscience Research
Effective July 1, 2008, we are pleased to announce that two new Paul Janssen Fellowships in Translational Neuroscience Research in the Department of Psychiatry/Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology at Columbia University have been awarded.

Dr. Scott A. Schobel's project will examine "Hippocampal function to focus upon the CA1 subregion function as a new treatment target in schizophrenia", under the mentorship of Drs. Scott Small and Cheryl Corcoran.

Dr. Salomao Segal' s project will examine "Serotonergic responses to deep brain stimulation in the subcallosal region", under the mentorship of Drs. Holly Moore, Ramin Parsey and Holly Lisanby.

Dr. J. John Mann Named 1st Janssen
Professor by Johnson & Johnson
One researcher with a genuine appreciation of the work and insight needed to break new ground is Dr. John Mann, Chief of the Division of Neuroscience. His already stellar career has gained even further distinction with his selection as Johnson & Johnson's first Paul Janssen Professor of Translational Neuroscience.
